Many times when I write a song, I try to think of another artist I like and write in their style. It's like when I learned improvised solos by Louis Armstrong or Charlie Parker. I learn by emulation, or as I call it, stealing.

As with lots of other material on here, these songs are a result of Song Club, a weekly songwriters project started by Adam Levy. From 2011-2012, I wrote 52 songs. One per week. These are all from that year, and they sort of fit together in that they are outside my usual writing style.
